NORMAN — Cecil A. Argo, 72, of Norman, passed away Feb. 27, 2014. He was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Moore, to the Rev. Perry and Imogene Argo, and a graduate of Norman High School.
Cecil married Pamela Kelly Aug. 10, 1962, at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Moore.
Cecil’s first place of employment was Palace Auto Garage, in Norman, and as a civilian employee at Tinker Air Force Base, where he worked as an aircraft electrical analysis. In 1964, he was accepted to the Minute Man Missile Team and was transferred to Whiteman Air Force Base for two years, working on missiles.
After that time, he moved his family back to Norman to the home property, and has resided there since 1968. After retiring from TAFB, he later worked for Selmon Enterprises as project manager/construction superintendent.
Cecil enjoyed hunting, fishing and keeping his yard mowed and trimmed and spending time at his vacation home at Webbers Falls.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pamela, of the home; son Donald Wayne of Norman; daughter Dana Darlene and husband Wayne Purser of Norman; two grandsons, Dustin Wayne Argo and Austin Clay Argo, of Norman; his brother, Otis Argo and wife Connie, of Norman; brother-in-law Clifton R. “Skip” Kelly and wife, Vickie, of Norman; and four nieces, Tracy Argo Carpenter and husband Shane, Jennifer Argo Coconaur and husband Casey, Pamela Kelly Goudie and husband Sean and Christy Kelly Cooper and husband Trent; one nephew, Jerry Story and wife Lori; and several great nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Perry Argo and his mother, Sarah Imogene Argo.
