Jeanne Moore Gray Zerboni

NORMAN — Jeanne Moore Gray Zerboni was born on Aug. 16, 1927 in Fairfax, Okla. to Walter Lee and Sara Elizabeth Gray. Jeanne was always a fun-loving and social person. In her early life in Fairfax, Jeanne would drop by the court house to visit with her dad or run by the hospital to have a splinter removed. What a surprise that was to her parents, who always told the story with a chuckle. The Gray family moved to Oklahoma City where Jeanne attended Wilson, Harding, and Classen schools before earning her English and drama teaching degree at the University of Oklahoma. Jeanne met John Allen Zerboni in the student union, and they married on Aug. 20, 1947. Jeanne taught English and drama at Norman High School for one year until Jack finished law school, and they moved to Oklahoma City. Jack and Jeanne's marriage lasted 50 wonderful years, and they were devoted to each other. Jack and Jeanne had three daughters who loved their parents dearly. After the girls were in school full time, Jeanne began a successful career in advertising, which was no surprise due to her jovial and endearing personality. Jeanne was a member of Nichols Hills Methodist Church and later St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Norman. Jeanne was a devout Christian; her daughters will miss her strong spiritual guidance and enlightenment. Jeanne loved her friends and being with people, where her funny sense of humor was appreciated. She was a member of many clubs: among them were the Chi Omega sorority, Bridge, many Mah Jongg groups, Leo birthdays, Dig and Hope Garden Club, and Paddle Tennis. Her family humbly acknowledges the many people who loved Jeanne and showed their steadfast support the last three years with their phone calls and notes about her well being. Jeanne reunited with her heavenly family on Oct. 29, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, John, eldest daughter, Cheryl Anne Zerboni Speer, her parents, Walter and Sara Gray and her older brother, Walter Gray, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Louise Zerboni and fiance, Bruce Rhodes and Elizabeth Jeanne Zerboni Wilson and husband Paul; son-in-law, Terry Speer; her three grandsons and their families that she adored, Clay Speer and wife Julie, great grandchildren, Carson Zerboni Speer and Corynn Elizabeth Speer, Blair Speer and wife Kendall and Benjamin Zerboni Wilson. Jeanne's girls want to thank the loving and caring staffs of The Gardens at Rivermont, Noble Health Care, and Lifecare Hospice for encouraging Jeanne's vivacious and unique spirit. They would also like to thank the wonderful Reverend Alan Sutherland and the members of the Prayer Team who provided Communion Outreach to their mother from St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Norman, Okla. Memorials may be sent to the Jeanne Zerboni Memorial Fund for Education and Research Cure for Lewy Body/Dementia, LBDA/Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd. S.W. Suite 202 C, Lilburn, Georgia, 30047.

A private service for family in Norman followed by a graveside service for family and friends was Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 in Rose Hill Burial Park. Arrangements for Jeanne and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at
