NORMAN — Peggy R. Palmore entered this life May 7, 1926, born to Guy Thompson and Bonnie Robertson (Thompson) in Marlow and departed from this life Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013.
Peggy grew up and graduated high school in Bray. She received her associate’s degree from Cameron University in Lawton. She married Homer Wade Palmore on Dec. 9, 1945, in Marlow, and they had two daughters, Vanna Ruth Whitlock and Glynna Lee Scott. Peggy has six-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Peggy made a career of loving and serving others. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Norman. She loved cooking and sewing. The highlights of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The most important things she taught others were about God’s love and her love for her savior, Jesus Christ. Peggy had a positive impact on every person she came in contact with. She was always loving, kind and willing to help others. She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul.
Peggy is survived by two daughters, Vanna Ruth Whitlock and Glynna Lee Scott; brother, Andrew Thompson; sister, Nora Brown; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Palmore will be 1 p.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church in Norman, with Pastor Ken Huddleston officiating.
