Patricia Lou Riester Langdon

NORMAN — Patricia Lou Riester Langdon was born March 8, 1941, and went to be with her savior on Dec. 25, 2013, after a lengthy illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Virginia Riester of Washington, Ind.

Pat moved to Norman with her children and husband Ron in 1978. She attended elementary and high school in Washington, Ind. She began work outside the home with the Norman School District and then with the University of Oklahoma engineering department. She retired from OU in the position of assistant to the director of the Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering Department in 2001.

Pat was active in the Goodrich Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She was a member of the philanthropic organization, Epsilon Sigma Alpha International for 35 years. She served twice as president of the Norman chapter, Delta Kappa, and earned numerous awards and achievements. She earned the highest honor given by ESA, the Fifth Degree of Pallas Athene. She gave loving support to all her Delta Kappa sisters.

She is survived by three sisters, Sue Ann Riester of East Dorsett, Vt., Etta Mae Lewis of Washington, Ind. and Mary Anita Riester of Norman. Her surviving children are Pamela of Norman, James and wife Diane of Littleton, Colo. and Kenneth and wife CarrieAnne of Dallas. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church, 200 W. Hayes. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Pat’s name to St. Jude’s or the Alzheimer’s Association.
