NORMAN — Randle Cloud, 79, of Norman, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014.
Randle was born May 12, 1934, in Duncan, one of four children born to Uel Cloud and Margie (Baker) Cloud. He was raised in Rush Springs and attended Rush Springs schools, graduating in 1953.
Randle enlisted in the United States Army and served his country proudly. After his military service, he attended the OSU Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, where he trained as a diesel mechanic and began working for Halliburton.
Randle married his best friend and true love, a young woman named Arlene June Tompkins. They were united in marriage Oct. 17, 1958, in Lexington. They made their home primarily in Norman, where together they raised a son, Steve.
Randle worked for a time at the University of Oklahoma and later the city of Norman before taking a maintenance position at Central State Hospital. He retired in 1991 after more than 25 years of dedicated service.
Randle was a hard worker and a great provider; a wonderful husband and father and a great example. He enjoyed crafts and dabbled some in woodworking. He loved to make picture frames.
