NORMAN — Nettie Mae (Bugher) Reed was born June 5, 1941, to Robert and Goldie (Townley) Bugher in Lexington. She departed this life Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Norman Regional Hospital due to a sudden illness at the age of 72.

Mrs. Reed graduated from Noble High School. She married Mr. Doug Reed on April 5, 1963, in Okmulgee.

She was employed as an accountant for Hudiburg Chevrolet from 1989-2012 until her retirement. She also was employed as an accountant for many other dealerships and businesses, such as Smith Construction, B.L. Owens Furniture in Ardmore, Don Hays Olds and Cadillac Dealership and Safeway in Oklmulgee and Henryetta.

Mrs. Reed resided in Ardmore from 1963-1971, Ada from 1971-1989, Norman from 1989-1991 and then moved to Lexington, where she resided until her death.

Mrs. Reed enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking for her family and growing huge vegetable gardens at her home and her mother’s home. She was an avid deer hunter and killed her first deer in 2012. Mrs. Reed’s family was the first and most important thing to her; they always came first.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Terri Lynne Love.

Those who survive her include her husband, Doug of the home; two daughters, Teresa Dew (David) of Ada and Dianna Turner (Robert) of Ada; one son, Mike Reed (Tracy) of Edmond; three sisters, Judy Bugher of Lexington, Kay Mattingly (Jack) of Seminole and Roberta Slate of Wyoming; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at McMahans Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairview Maguire Cemetery in Noble.
