NORMAN — Robert Kenneth Benson, age 41, of Oklahoma City, passed away Wednesday March 5, 2014.
Robert was born Nov. 28, 1972, in Norman to Kenneth and Patricia Benson. There he grew up and graduated from Norman High School. Shortly there after, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Rainier. While on board, he visited many places in the world including Japan, Hong Kong and Australia. After he completed his service in the Navy, he continued his education at Oklahoma State University, studying technical communication. Upon graduation, he was employed in Oklahoma City as a system engineer.
Robert enjoyed watching and attending sporting events, especially any involving OU or the Thunder, playing card games and visiting with his family.
Robert is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Patricia Benson; sister, Heather Wren and her husband Dwayne; niece, Kelsey Wren; three nephews Thomas, Zachary and Noah Wren; and by his uncle and aunt and cousins and their families.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Noble Assembly of God Church.
