Carol Ann (Christner) Walkup

NORMAN — Carol Ann (Christner) Walkup, 68, of Norman, died Monday, March 17, 2014. Carol was born Oct. 27, 1945, in Texas. She was adopted three days later by Roy and Donna Christner, where she grew up in Cashion, and later moved to Bethany to finish her teenage years. She lived in Bethany until she met Warren Walkup, and they soon became married.

They lived around the Oklahoma City and Norman area before settling down on some property east of Noble, where we all still live as a close-knit family. Carol’s days were filled with working outside the home, where she worked at Little Giant Pump Company and Target in Norman.

She then went to work in her husband’s business, taking charge of the financial aspects. She enjoyed gardening, messing around in her flower bed, reading, crocheting and spending time with her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Donna Christner; two grandchildren, Blake and Kennedy Walkup; and many other friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, Warren Walkup, of the home; daughters Donnita Walkup and Shannon Walkup Reed; three grandchildren, Tyler Guy, Trey Guy, Carly Reed and Cadyn Reed; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Faith Abundant Church, 14401 E. Cedar Lane in Norman. Reception will follow at the church.
