NORMAN — Harry B Roberts Sr., 87, died at his home on Saturday, March 15, 2014, in Kountze, Texas.
He was the son of Hugh and Mildred Roberts, of Norman, where he graduated from Norman High and later married Alma Claunch. After serving in the Korean War with the Oklahoma 45th Infantry Division, he continued serving in the 45th Army National Guard until his retirement as a lieutenant colonel. He was retired from Standard Oil (Amaco Oil) and lived in Healdton until moving to Texas.
He was preceded by his parents; one brother, Hugh; one sister, Lucy Ellen (McElroy); his wife, Alma; and granddaughter, Rachel.
Surviving are his three children, Harry, Jr. (Lynda) of Kountze, Texas, Debbie Robson of Lumberton, Texas and Phyllis (Robert) Crawley of Granger, Ind.; and grandchildren Sam Wampler (Lori), Levi (Tonya) Roberts, Colette (Alex) Legg and Maj. Joe Anderson (Sandy), with seven great-grandchildren.
Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing and working cattle on his wonderful quarter horse, Al. He loved the outdoors and was outside every chance he got.
He was layed to rest Thursday in Healdton.
