Donnie Ray Bridges

NORMAN — Donnie Ray Bridges died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, in Oklahoma City, after an extended illness at the age of 52 years, 9 months and 12 days.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wadley’s Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City under the direction of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Donnie was born Dec. 2, 1960, in Oklahoma City, to Bobby and Janice Sue (Long) Bridges. He graduated from Purcell High School around 1979. Donnie continued his education at Murray State College in Tishomingo, where he earned an associate’s degree in applied science.

Donnie worked as a gunsmith for many years. He also worked as a caterer for some time. In 1997, Donnie married Toni Wilson at the First Baptist Church in Purcell. Donnie was very athletic and enjoyed all sports, especially baseball. He was an outdoorsman, spending his time hunting and fishing. After his accident, trap shooting was his favorite.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Janice Bridges, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife, Toni of the home; sister, Leslie Perkins and husband Teddy of Purcell; sister-in-law, Debra Harms and husband Gene of Noble; brother-in-law, Dale Wilson and wife Loretta of Norman; nieces and nephews Danielle Larman of Houston, Bo Larman of Purcell, Joey Robinson, Nichole Jones, Reba Wilson, Randy Wilson, Josh Wilson, Joey Harms, Ryan Harms, Tim Harms and Johnny Tourville; great-aunt, Arthia Bridges of Oklahoma City; and many other relatives and friends.
