Cecilia Sue Cameron

NORMAN — Cecilia Sue Cameron, 68, of Washington, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013. She was born June 8, 1945, in Seminole, the third of 10 children born to Oscar Fixico and Emma (King) Fixico.

She grew up a country girl north of Seminole near Strothers. She attended Strothers schools, graduating in 1963. Cecilia married her best friend and true love, Larry Gene Cameron on Aug. 9, 1965, in Seminole. To this union, two sons, Brian and Darryl, were born.

They lived in various communities, including Cole, Norman and Seminole, before settling in Cole in 1981. Cecilia worked at the Norman Veterans Center for many years before her health forced her to retire. She later worked at the Riverwind Casino Gift Shop.

Cecilia cherished her family and greatly enjoyed years of babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed needle work, especially crochet and quilting. She was an avid bingo player and never missed an opportunity to go fishing.

Cecilia was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of the Fresh Start Community Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Emma Fixico; two brothers, Thomas and Leon Fixico; two sisters, Elizabeth Fixico and Barbara Ann Fixico; and her nephew, Thomas Fixico.

Cecilia leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Larry Gene Cameron of the home; her sons Brian Cameron and wife Amy and Darryl Cameron and wife Allyson, all of Washington; four grandchildren, Sierra and Mason Cameron, Krista Reed and Lyndi Whitten and husband Clark; two great-grandchildren, Julian and Jaelyn; three brothers, Donald Fixico and James Fixico, both of Shawnee, and Robert Fixico of Okemah; two sisters, Hildean Fixico and Eloise Fixico, both of Shawnee; and several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Jerusalem Cemetery in Cole.

Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
