NORMAN — Lora Belle Wilson Fields, a resident of Fairfax, passed Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. She was 80 years of age.

Lora was born Oct. 18, 1932, in Waldron, Ark., the daughter of Jim Louis Wilson and Parlie (Catlett) Wilson. Her early education was in the Booneville and Ione, Ark., schools.

She married Rudolf Fuller in Ralston and later married Charles E. Fields on Sept. 13, 1964, in Durant. Lora traveled with her husband during his Air Force days, and they retired in Norman.

She was a devoted hard worker and was very caring, first working at the Ralston Laundry in the 1950s and then working for the Ralston Osage Grocery and Fairfax Palace Grocery.

She also had worked in Stillwater, Oklahoma City and Kansas City, Mo., before retiring in Norman in 1988.

She retired from the Safeway Grocery Store chain and always took pride in her employment, always neatly dressed as a professional worker and precision checker. Her enjoyments included listening to country music, shopping and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one stepson, Robert Fields; two brothers, Delbert and James Wilson; three sisters, Anna Davis, Elwie Crenshaw and Verda Crenshaw; and one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Wilson.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; one stepson, Kenny Fields of Idaho; several grandchildren, Candi Moore and Kelley Beebe of Idaho, Joey Fields of California and Curtis of Norman; two brothers, Lucien Wilson of Perry and Donald Lee Wilson and wife Charlene of Fairfax; and sister-in-law, Lois Wilson.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fairfax Cemetery, with the Rev. George Weston presiding.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.
