Robert “Jerry” Johnson

NORMAN — Robert “Jerry” Johnson, 81, passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman.

Jerry was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Uvalde, Texas to Robert Maury Johnson and Alice Mildred (Blaylock) Johnson. Jerry spent over sixty years working in various companies, retiring in 2012 from Maxey Homes. Jerry loved spending time with his grandkids especially at Christmas time. He enjoyed gospel music, shopping and dinners out with his family. Jerry was outgoing and especially enjoyed seeing his Norman High School classmates during reunions.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by daughters, Sharon Rhodes and husband Rick of Louisville, Ky., Ellen Johnson of Norman and Jo Wilson and husband Kirt of Stover, Mo.; stepson, Bob Uhles of Chicago; stepdaughter, Kay Newberry and husband Dan of Tulsa; brother, Ronald Johnson and wife Elizabeth of Nacogdoches, Texas; sister, Linda Adams and husband James of Little River, Texas; grandchildren, Josh, Maddy, Cody, Angela, Krysta and Natalie; great-grandchildren, Noah, Ryan, Khloe, Bailey, Kelsey, Conner, Logan, Kaden and Ben; and life partner, Patricia Summers.

In memory of Jerry, contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation, Oklahoma Chapter, 500 N. Broadway, Oklahoma City, OK 73102, (405) 943-8888.

Arrangements for Jerry and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Online condolences may be shared at HavenbrookFuneralHome.com.
