NORMAN — Wayne Henry Ferguson, 75, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, in Norman, after a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Norman with Bro. Ken Huddleston presiding.
He was born June 2, 1938, in Snyder to Emory and Luna (Willis) Ferguson.
Wayne attended schools in the Oklahoma City area and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1957. He joined the U.S. Army in 1959 and served in Germany until 1961.
For most of his career, Wayne was involved in the car business, working for his brother Tommy Ferguson.
He was united in marriage to Cindy Thompson on May 15, 1981, in Norman. Wayne had a love of cars and Elvis. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Luna Ferguson; his brother, Tommy Ferguson; his brother-in-law, Emmett Ledbetter; and two daughters, Tiffany Hulsey and Emily Ferguson.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Cindy Ferguson, of the home; a sister, June Ledbetter of Ozark, Mo., two sons, Thomas Ferguson and his wife Kim Rarick of Noble and Tim Ferguson of Norman; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; in-laws, Irene Ferguson of Norman, Bob and Nancy Thompson of Norman, John and Marcia Thompson of Dublin, Ohio, Tucker and Becky Thompson of McKinney, Texas, Frank and Dianna Thompson of Norman, Joe and Sherri Thompson of Norman, Mary Ann and Alec Bass of Norman, Cotton and Kim Thompson of Norman and Toby and Diane Thompson of Norman; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and cousins.
