NORMAN — Dale Anderson Bryant was born June 11, 1926, in Littlefield, Texas, to JC (Jack) and Julia (Davis) Bryant. He joined his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Norman Veterans Center at the age of 87.
Mr. Bryant had been a resident of Noble since 1966, coming from Oklahoma City. He attended school in Alex. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1944 to 1946, earning several Bronze Stars for his service.
On April 16, 1948, he and Jean Taylor were united in marriage in Oklahoma City. They were married 62 years when she passed away in December 2010.
Dale was a member of Noble First Baptist Church. Throughout his life, he enjoyed telling stories, bowling, sports, gardening, outdoor activities, volunteering at the church and the Southern Cleveland County Historical Society Museum.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean; son, Jerry; brother, Elton; and sister, Toy Darrow.
He is survived by his daughters Julia Gail Means of Sealy, Texas, Lynne Marie Yeager and husband Mark of Norman and Becky Jean Smith and husband Eric of Carrollton, Texas; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren (and counting); as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Noble First Baptist Church, 330 E. Chestnut in Noble. Interment will be at Noble IOOF Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at McMahans Funeral Home in Noble.
