NORMAN — Anna M. Rider, 78, of Little Axe, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at her home. She was born July 4, 1935, to Gifford G. and Lela Marie (O’Banion) King in Kokomo, Ind. Anna grew up in Kokomo, where she attended school.
She married Richard L. Rider April 30, 1956, in Phoenix and became a military wife. Anna traveled the world with Richard during his military service in the U.S. Air Force.
Anna was an active member of the Twelve Corners Baptist Church for many years. She loved to sing and enjoyed collecting anything to do with frogs, crocheting, quilting and spending time with her family. Anna gave away many of the beautiful afghans and quilts she made to family members and friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Bruce Rider and Albert Rider.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Richard L. Rider of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Trudie Rider of Noble and Clifford and Cathy Rider of Norman; two daughters-in-law, Linda Rider of Denton, Texas, and Jane Rider of Norman; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Tucker, Ruth Garity, Jeannie and John Turnpaugh and Linda Paul and Martin, all of Kokomo; brother, Joe King of Kokomo; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be noon today and continue through service time. Family will gather to meet with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home chapel, with Deacon Gary Adams, Twelve Corners Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh.
