NORMAN — Barbara Rhae Davis Couch, age 79, passed from this life Sunday, March 3, 2013, into the loving arms of her Heavenly father surrounded by her family. Barbara was born May 29, 1933, in Alexandria, La., to Robert Daniel and Helen Recoulley Davis.
A celebration of her life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Norman.
She graduated from Bolton High School in Alexandria and attended Louisiana College in Pineville, La. She married W. Frank Couch on June 13, 1953, and they made their home in Pineville, where they served in the music ministry in several churches. Barbara worked for AT&T Telephone Company and Rapides Bank and taught piano in her home while living in Louisiana. In 1973, the family moved to Norman. Barbara was employed by several banks in the area. She was very active in First Baptist Church, where she served as drama director, deacon, member of the Adult Choir and Sunday School department pianist.
Barbara was preceded in death by the love of her life, W. Frank Couch.
She is survived by her four children, Susan Morgan and husband Ted of Newcastle, Danny Couch and wife Judy of Ft. Worth, Texas, Cindi Hickmott of San Ramon, Calif., and Scott Couch and fiancee Kathy Emerson of Austin, Texas; four grandsons; two granddaughters-in-law; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members. Barbara loved her family and friends and lived life to the fullest in everything she did.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Primrose Funeral Service.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church Music Ministry.
