Frances Kerr Armstrong

NORMAN — Frances Kerr Armstrong, 90, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Norman.

Services for Mrs. Frances Kerr Armstrong will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Havenbrook Funeral Home chapel, 3401 Havenbrook St. in Norman, with Pastor Harriette Leigh officiating.

Frances was born Aug. 6, 1922, on the Kerr Family Farm three miles west of Washington, one of eight children born to William Alfred and Mattie Kerr. Frances was united in marriage to Tommy H. Armstrong in 1939.

Frances graduated from Washington High School and the University of Oklahoma. Frances was a member of the McFarlin Memorial Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Family was everything to Frances. She was always there to comfort or cheer on those she loved so deeply.

Frances was preceded in death by her son, Michael Bruce Armstrong in 1965; her husband, Tommy H. Armstrong in 1999; her parents; two brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include her beloved children, Tommy L. Armstrong of Chelsea, Sherryl K. Sandersfeld of Norman and Elizabeth McCoy of Norman; three grandchildren, Katherine Cash of Collinsville, Michael Sandersfeld of Oklahoma City and Chris Armstrong of Euless, Texas; and three great-grandsons, Dustin Cash of Collinsville, Charles Dale Sandersfeld and Michael Christopher Sandersfeld of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and dear friends.

The Armstrong family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Havenbrook Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory for Frances Kerr Armstrong to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Arrangements for Frances and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
