NORMAN — Steve Howard, 54, of Norman, was called home March 22, 2013, at his home after an extended struggle against early onset Familia Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born Oct. 30, 1958, in Oklahoma City to Marshall and Shirley (Bayles) Howard.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Emmaus Baptist Church, 16001 S. Western Ave., Oklahoma City.
Steve graduated from Blair High School in Blair in 1976. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1987. He taught at Grace Christian Academy for several years until he took a full time job with the Oklahoma Air National Guard. Steve served the OKANG proudly for 25 years until he was forced into retirement due to the Alzheimer’s Disease.
He was faithful in his service to the Lord Jesus and Immanuel Baptist Church of Norman. Steve’s family and friends were his life.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Howard and brother, Mark Howard, both who were taken by Alzheimer’s Disease; and grandparents.
Steve is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Chris Howard and his wife, Tiffany of Oklahoma City; daughter, Amber Spencer and her husband, Robert of Altus; Sammy Joe Lingle and his wife, Kim of Norman; father, Marshall Howard and his wife, Delores of Oklahoma City; brothers, Stuart Howard and his wife, Rhonda of Oklahoma City and Michael Howard and his wife, Candy of Sayre; sister, Marsha Burridge of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Shan Nunnally of Norman and Melody Toma of Chandler; grandsons, Hunter Howard of Oklahoma City, Ethan and Kristian Spencer of Altus; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving guests from 2 to 4 p.m.

Arrangements for Steve and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
