NORMAN — Lymon Lee (Joe) Hendricks, 76, born June 8, 1936, in Norman, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013.

He served in the Air Force and the Air Force Reserve. He worked at Tinker AFB and was a driver for Waggoners Trucking.

He had several nicknames — Chief, Wahoo and Indian. He enjoyed going to the dirt car races and Jennings Garage was his “second home.”

He was a member of the Delaware Tribe.

He is preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Hays; mother, Etheline Johnson; sister, Helena Tall Bull; and brother Tony Johnson.

He is survived by five daughters with Sheila Hendricks, Julie Murphy, Donna Longhorn, Tina Hendricks, Paula Kinsey and Terri Richmond; his wife, Sharon Hendricks; stepsons, Bobby Ward and Joey Ward; brother Jerry (Cindy) Feexico; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He had a traditional Shawnee burial.
