NORMAN — James L.Hanks Jr., left this life on Sept. 7, 2011 after a brief illness at Norman Regional Hospital.
Services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 12, 2011 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with interment following in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Noble. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home. He was born into this life on October 27, 1951 and was a long time resident of Cleveland County attending Noble schools and graduating in 1970. He was a career employee at the University of Oklahoma where he worked in the Landscape department. Jim was an avid OU football fan and he also enjoyed fishing.
He is preceded in death by his father, James L. “Shorty” Hanks of Noble.
He is survived by one daughter, Tina; his mother, Beulah Mae Hanks of Noble; two sisters, Shirley Ann Fergerson of Dallas, Crystal Kay Noah of Norman; one brother, Kenneth Wayne Hanks of Lexington; four grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
