NORMAN — Rev. Donald Scott Waters, 85, was born July 12, 1927, in Cherokee to Daniel Scott and Ethel Winifred (Wheeler) Waters and departed this earth Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in Norman.

His celebration of life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church.

He served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. Don lived in Kingfisher and Enid before marrying the love of his life, Barbara J. Troup, on Aug. 5, 1949, in Enid. He received a degree in aeronautical engineering from Oklahoma A&M in 1950. Don and Barbara moved to Irving, Texas, where he worked for Chance Vought.
