NORMAN — Ina Dell Sholer, 75, passed away at her home in Norman after a long battle with cancer on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013.
Ina was a home health aide and medical assistant most of her working life. She retired and raised sheltie puppies for many years prior to her illness.
She is survived by her husband, Howard “Red” Sholer; two sons, Michael Berry of Antlers and Randy Poole of Arkansas; three daughters, Wanda Orr and Lana Walsh, both of Norman, and Grace Jones of Kentucky; and three stepchildren, Lea Wells of Oklahoma City, Mike Sholer of Midwest City and Sharon Sholer of Mustang. She had one surviving sibling, Minnie Roberts of Arkansas. She had 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Harris and Bertie Allen of Arkansas; two brothers, Johnny Harris of California and Leon Harris of Arkansas; as well as two children, daughter Becky Cates and stepson, Tim Sholer.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Saint Joseph’s chapel, Norman, with Fr. Paul Zahler, OSB officiating. Private interment will be at a later date at the family cemetery in Arkansas. Relative and friends are invited to attend.
