NORMAN — Clarence Hiram Andrews died Thursday, June 20, 2013, in Norman, at the age of 86 years. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Slaughterville Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Noble IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Clarence was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Pryor to Asa and Myrtle (VanCleve) Andrews. On Nov. 12, 1954, Clarence was inducted into the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 29, 1956. 

He worked as an OTR truck driver for ABF Freight Systems, retiring in 1991.  Clarence was married to Ellen Cummings. He was a people person and enjoyed talking about his travels. He raised miniature horses for a few years, but his passion was driving. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Slaughterville Baptist Church.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Myrtle Andrews; wife, Ellen Andrews; brothers Orval and Jay Andrews; and sister, Marie Messick.

Survivors include his son, Keith Andrews of Noble; daughters Cindy Johnson and husband John of Moore, Tina Moore and husband Charles of Lexington and Ellen King and husband Terance of Norman; brother, Wayne Andrews; sister, Laura Andrews; grandchildren Rhonda Clark, Tiffney Cardwell, Matt Johnson and Daniel Johnson; great-grandchildren Taylor Clar, Tyler Cardwell, Brandon Cardwell and Levi Johnson; great-great-grandchild, Brooke Jones; and many relatives and friends.
