Donna Catherine Kennicutt

NORMAN — Donna Catherine Kennicutt was born March 7, 1935, to Forest and Evelyn Kennicutt in Oklahoma City. She departed this life at the Norman Regional Hospital after a brief sudden illness at the age of 78.

Donna graduated from High School in Oklahoma City. She attended the Central State College for two years. She and Bill Kennicutt were united in marriage on July 4, 1954, in Oklahoma City.

She was employed with Macklanburg Duncan for 12 years. They then moved from Oklahoma City to Noble in 2000. She became employed with United Design as a sculpture designer for 17 years before her retirement.

She and Bill then moved to Duncan for four years and then to Georgia for four years to be close to their daughter. After four years in Georgia, they returned to the Noble area and bought an acreage east of Lexington, where she resided until her death. She and Bill both were employed with the Sooner Security at the University of Oklahoma for eight years before her retirement again.

Donna loved to read. She enjoyed nature, animals, horses, art and was an avid artist and sculptor. She attended art shows and also had one of her art pieces hanging in the governor’s art gallery. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her husband and family.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Those who survive her include her husband of 58 years, Bill of the home; two sons, Keith Kennicutt and wife Andrea and Kent Kennicutt and wife Cyndi; one daughter, Cathy Phillips; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at a later date.

Arranged and directed by McMahans Funeral Home.
