Charles (Bill) William Shepherd Sr.

NORMAN — Charles (Bill) William Shepherd Sr. was born to Robert B. and Alma (Robinett) Shepherd on April 27, 1943, in Hamilton, Ohio. He peacefully entered his home in Heaven on July 12, 2013, from his earthly home in Noble at the age of 70 years.

Bill was raised and attended school in Hamilton, Ohio. He entered the U.S. Army on April 28, 1961, and received an honorable discharge on April 16, 1964, as a SP4. He married the love of his life, Patti Mays, on March 21, 1964, in Brookville, Ind. Bill was a machinist by trade before his retirement. He and Patti moved from Hamilton, Ohio to Noble in 1982 where he resided until his death.

Bill and Patti were members of the Twelve Corners Baptist Church east of Noble. He was employed with Larry Spencer Chevrolet in the parts department for many years before his second retirement. He was an avid collector of Elvis memorabilia and baseball cards.

His church, family and friends were the most important part of his life. He enjoyed camping and visiting with everyone in Noble. If he met you, you became his friend. Bill’s family came first, he was a family man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gary Shepherd; and two sisters, Kaye Taylor and Shirley Mooney.

Those who survive him include his wife of 48 years, Patti of the home; two sons, Charles Shepherd Jr. and Bobby Shepherd both of Noble; one daughter, Kelly Robinett of Lexington; one brother, Bobby Shepherd of Monroe, Ohio; three sisters, Barbara Moore of Middle Town, Ohio, Dixie Grover of Fairfield, Ohio and Neci Mize of Oldsmar, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Debbie Bobbitt of Moore, Robin Clouse of Denton, Texas, and Marie Crank of Yermo, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Weston Shepherd, Davy Robinett, Scotty Robinett, Kierstin Robinett, Leigha Shepherd, Clay Shepherd, Cameron Shepherd, Joshua Shepherd and Jake Holman; five great-grandchildren, Riane Robinett, Austin Robinett, Riley Robinett, Easton Robinett, Ryan Holman; two great-granddaughters on the way; and many other relatives and friends.
