NORMAN — JD Wright, 98, of Norman, passed away at his home Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in Norman.
He was born Nov. 21, 1915, to John and Viola (Love) Wright. JD went to school in Ravia.
He worked as an iron worker for Union Local No. 48 for 64 years. JD was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church and now Heaven Bound Pentecostal Church of God in Norman. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives Fay E Waller Wright and Thelma Haden Wright; two daughters, Imogene Lockeby and Teddie Baird; three sons, Lee Roy, Ronnie and Jerry Wright; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers; and eight sisters.
JD is survived by his daughter, Donna Branham and her husband Ralph; 19 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and other family members.
Visitation for JD will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Services will be 1 p .m. Thursday at Heaven Bound Pentecostal Church of God, 1055 24th Ave. SE in Norman, officiated by the Rev. Sherman Fitzgerald and the Rev. James Poulin, with interment following at Norman IOOF Cemetery.
Arrangements for JD and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
