NORMAN — Bobby Jack Hunter was born Oct. 1, 1942, in Lawton to George and Colleen (Hartsell) Hunter . He departed this life Monday, June 16, 2014, at Noble.
Bobby attended school at Springer. He and Linda Frost were united in marriage on Sept. 21, 1962, at Ardmore. They were married for 51 years.
They made their home in Norman for 40 years, moving from El Reno. He was employed with Tyler and Simpson for many years. Later, he was employed with Southwest Electric as a transformer technician before his retirement.
Bobby was a dedicated family man to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While working nights at Tyler and Simpson, he always made time for his family during the day. He loved the weekends and holidays when the family spent time together. He had a great love of horses and always put each of his children in a saddle when they were old enough to walk. He enjoyed breaking and shoeing horses when he wasn’t working. His enjoyed riding motorcycles and always owned one. Bobby had a great love for the Lord and was a Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those who survive him include his wife of 51 years, Linda of the home; one daughter, Sheila Vaughn (Richard) of Noble; two sons, Bobby Lynn Hunter (Sharon) of Noble and Jackie Dewayne Hunter (Cindy) of Dixon; one brother; five sisters; 10 grandchildren; give great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McMahans Funeral Chapel in Noble. Interment will be at Fairview Maguire Cemetery in Noble.
