NORMAN — Karen Kay O’Bryant was born March 18, 1941, in Oklahoma City to Herbert and Willie Mae Mitchusson. She departed this life into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 28, 2014. Her husband had passed away a few days earlier on June 22, 2014. Both had been in ill health for a while.
Karen attended school in Blanchard and Norman and graduated from Noble High School in 1959. In November that same year, she married W.H. “Bill” O’Bryant. Karen loved to sing and play her guitar, which she did quite often with her church friends. She was a Christian and was always so sweet and kind and loved everybody. She always loved to go “eat a bite” with her friends. She loved to feed the birds in her yard and loved her dogs Princess, Nibbles and Corky.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, “Bill,” and her parents.
She is survived by her sister, Faye Schat and husband Joe; brothers Gary Mitchusson and wife Ferrell and Scott Mitchusson and wife Carmen; and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel in Moore.
