Pamela ‘Pam’ Ruth Deen

NORMAN — Funeral services for Pamela “Pam” Ruth Deen will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Midway Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Willard McCartney Jr. officiating.

Pam was born July 22, 1953, in Wynnewood to Alva Lou “A.L.” and Mamie Ruth (Shipley) West. She died Monday, July 14, 2014, in Norman at the age of 60 years 11 months and 22 days. Pam and Steve Deen were married July 31, 1971.

Pam grew up in Davis, where she graduated from high school in May 1971. Throughout their marriage, she and Steve resided in several Oklahoma cities, including Durant, Wynnewood, Chandler, Shawnee and finally settling in Norman in 1987, where they raised their sons. In 2004, Pam and Steve moved back to the Davis area to enjoy their retirement. Pam loved traveling to Hot Springs, Ark., every chance she had. She was a very proud mother and enjoyed watching her boys play sports.

Pam loved to visit with people. Everywhere she went, she would find someone to visit with. Most people go to the local senior citizens center to enjoy lunch; however, Pam went to simply visit with everyone. She also enjoyed spending time visiting with her local sorority sisters. Pam was a member of the Midway Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Steve; three sons, Beau Allen Deen and wife Angela of Norman, Blake Thomas Deen and wife Briana of Oklahoma City and Barry Carder Deen of Pauls Valley; mother, Ruth West of Davis; three grandchildren, Jace and Jaylea Deen and Olivia Deen, who will soon join the family; two brothers, Louis West and wife Janis of Owasso and Tom West of Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pam was preceded in death by her father, A.L. West; grandmother, Oneida Shipley; father-in-law, Tommy Deen; and one infant grandchild.

Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home in Davis.
