Ruby Jane Brown

NORMAN — Ruby Jane Brown passed from this earth Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Grace Living Center in Norman into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jane was born in Hobart on Jan. 18, 1922, and graduated from Hobart High and business school in Oklahoma City.

Jane married James Brown in 1942, and they were married 57 years until his passing in 1999. Jane worked for Dillingham’s Jewelry in Hobart prior to becoming secretary for the district attorney’s office in Hobart, a position she had for more than 20 years.

Jane relocated to Norman in 2000 to be closer to her son, Dr. Randall Brown and his wife Cindy. As many of her friends know, Jane loved people, flowers and her prayer and ministry groups at First Baptist Church in Hobart and Bethel Baptist Church in Norman.

She is survived by her sons Ronald R. Brown and his wife J.C. of Stuart, Fla., and Randall Brown, DDS, and his wife Cindy of Norman; and grandchildren Heather Brown Dollarhide and husband Kirk of Allen, Texas, Liz Brown Scalise and Brian of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Courtney Pallatta and husband Dave of Westwood, N.J., and Cameron Collins of Stuart, Fla. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Hobart.

Memorials may be made to the Gideons International at gideons.org.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Hobart.
