NORMAN — Leticia R. Clanton, 79, of Norman, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, in Norman. Leticia was born March 13, 1934, in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, Mexico, to Manuel and Clara Diaz de la Vega.
She grew up in Mexico City until she married in 1958. The family traveled extensively and lived in Puerto Rico, Argentina, Venezuela, Scotland, Istanbul, Connecticut, Mexico City and then moved to Norman in 1975.
Leticia enjoyed working with children as a child development teacher for more than 20 years.
Her passions were her three children and “the puppies.” She enjoyed traveling, her daughter-in-law’s cooking and being with her family.
Leticia was preceded in death by her husband, Ray W. Clanton Jr.
She is survived by her daughters Letty and Leslie; her son, Tony and his wife Anne and Alison; and her beloved puppies Hershey, Sydney, Rusty and Kirby.
The family wishes to extend many heartfelt thanks to her doctors and caregivers who were so kind and gracious with their time and services.
Private memorial services were hosted Saturday.
Services were entrusted to the care of Primrose Funeral Service.
