Paul Gene Griffin

NORMAN — Paul Gene Griffin, 76, of Noble, passed from this life April 10, 2013, in Norman. He was born July 7, 1936, in Oklahoma City to parents William and Otylie Griffin.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Havenbrook Funeral Home chapel in Norman with Pastor Dave Poteet officiating.

Paul lived many years in the Houston area. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge he began his law enforcement career working as a Houston Police Officer and later for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. After many years of public service Paul worked for Rock Island Railroad where he later retired.

Paul enjoyed outdoor cooking, and was an avid fisherman until the past several years of his life when his health no longer permitted him to. He was a longtime member of Bridgeview United Methodist Church in Norman, and the American Legion Post 34. Though his accomplishments in life were many, he will always be remembered by his family as a deeply devoted husband and wonderfully caring father.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Griffin; and his parents.

Paul is survived by his wife Hilda of the home; sons, Don Griffin and wife Suzy of Norman, and Troy Griffin and wife Edie of Houston; daughter, Brenda Rogers and husband Jon of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Nikki Simpson, Stephen Griffin, Stephanie Griffin, Michelle Griffin, and Jennifer Griffin; brother, Clifford Griffin and wife Thelma of Tyler, Texas.

Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family being present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
