NORMAN — Brandolyn Cheyenne (Dickey) Henderson was born Aug. 10, 1978, in Enid to Cindy and Mike Dickey. She passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014.

Brandolyn graduated Enid High School in 1997 and attended Oklahoma State University, where she received undergraduate degrees in political science and secondary education. She attended law school at the University of Oklahoma, where she met her husband, Scott Henderson. Scott and Brandolyn were married July 30, 2005. Shortly after, they moved to Las Vegas, where they lived for over eight years. Brandolyn was a deputy district attorney in Clark County, prosecuting child welfare and neglect cases. Brandolyn’s love for children made her a natural for this career.

Brandolyn was a woodworking enthusiast, an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She loved to cook for her family and friends. In addition, Brandolyn’s friends knew her as a corrector of grammar, but always in the most polite way possible.

While at Oklahoma State, Brandolyn pledged Alpha Chi Omega fraternity. She remained active from the day she signed for the rest of her life. In addition to her parents raising her, she felt Alpha Chi helped make her the woman she was. She took countless trips and spent hours working on problems within her own chapter, as well as other chapters. She eagerly looked forward to the new edition of The Lyre in the mail.

Brandolyn was many things: a wife, a daughter, a friend, an attorney and a life-long sorority girl. Most of all, she was a good mother. Brandolyn and Scott had their son, Austin, on Aug. 18, 2010. Brandolyn took to motherhood immediately; it was the role for which she was born.

Brandolyn is survived by her husband, Scott Henderson; son, Austin Henderson; parents Cindy and Mike Dickey; brother, Ivan (Brittney) Dickey and their daughter Emma; maternal grandmother, Jean Gray; parents-in-law Dianne and Jerrel Henderson and “Mimi and Papa” Laudine and Cloyd Terrel; brother-in-law, Stephen (Sierra) Henderson; sister-in-law, Sarah (MB) Watts and their children Macy and Bryant; “sister,” Bengi Beebe; her “bestie,” Tina Moore Dowers; and her rescue dog, Dexter.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Bill Gray, and her paternal grandparents, Joan and Ivan Dickey.

Memorial donations can be made to Child Haven in Clark County, Clark County Department of Family Services, c/o Julie Ball, 121 S. Martin Luther King Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89106-4309.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Willow View United Methodist Church in Enid. Jim Jones will officiate. Music will be arranged by Sarah Watts. Interment will be 3 p.m. at Norman IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at Anderson Burris Funeral Home in Enid.
