NORMAN — Janet Earle Emery, 81, of Norman, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at home, from a long battle with Parkinson’s. She was born Feb. 27, 1933, to Fletcher and Edna (Freeze) Benson in Greenville, Texas, and was the middle of five children.
Janet married Harold Emery on May 16, 1953. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to three children, Bruce, Mark and Leslie.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, older brother and his wife, and oldest son.
She is survived by three siblings, her husband, daughter-in-law, son and daughter. She will also be missed by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren with one on the way and other family members.
The family will be present to receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation times for Janet will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Havenbrook Funeral Home chapel, with Jim Stewart officiating, 3401 Havenbrook St. in Norman, with interment following at the Warren Cemetery in Norman.
