NORMAN — Paul Leroy Adams was born Jan. 6, 1943, in Hobbs, N.M. He passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, in Norman.
Paul attended high school in Durant before graduating from Norman High School in 1961. He attended Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond for two years. After working in New Mexico and Texas, Paul stayed in central Oklahoma the remainder of his life.
Paul operated two barbecue stands and a restaurant called The Rib Depot in Norman. He was an avid golfer and worked in the pro shop at Westwood. He was an OU fan and kept up with the world of sports. Additionally, Paul was active in the adult classes at Westside Church of Christ. He had a special place in his heart for people in need and would do whatever he could to help.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nettie and John Adams and his brother, Gerald Adams.
Paul is survived by his sister and her husband, Dianne and Jerrel Henderson and their children Scott and Stephen Henderson; sister-in-law, Pat Adams and her children Kelly Burke and Jay Adams; his aunt, Edna Champeau; and several cousins.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Paul’s name to the Westside Church of Christ in Norman.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Westside Church of Christ in Norman.
Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
