NORMAN — Dorothy Elaine Davidson Wyatt, 86, of Sterling House in Norman, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Norman Regional Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1928, to Maudie Myrtle Crain of Tempson, Texas, and Toy Esley Davidson of Bristow. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1946 and on Dec. 15, 1946, she married the love of her life, Jack Gaylord Wyatt of Bristow.
To this union were born three children who survive her, Brenda Elaine Wyatt Barszewski Homburg (Jim), Steven Jack (Tracie) and Kendall Gaylord Wyatt; grandchildren Grace Ivy (Lee) and Michael Wyatt (Jackie); great-grandchildren Ava and Olive Ivy and Landon Wyatt; sister-in-law, Darlene Davidson of Fairborn, Ohio; a nephew, Randy Davidson of Fairborn, Ohio; and many other nieces and nephews.
Before moving to Norman in 1954, Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt lived in Cherokee, Haven, Kan., Hugoton, Kan., and Neosho, Mo. Mrs. Wyatt was a homemaker and taught piano lessons in her home during her early years in Norman. She was also the church pianist at Northwest Baptist Church on Berry Road. Upon joining the First Baptist Church in 1963, she and her family were very active in many activities of the church. They made many valuable friendships through the church and community which lasted throughout her lifetime.
Mrs. Wyatt also sold Luzier Cosmetics, which she enjoyed immensely. Her sales enabled her to travel to different places, and she enjoyed the friendships she made in her sales and travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack G. Wyatt, who died on Oct. 3, 2010; her brother, Ray E. Davidson of Fairborn, Ohio; her nephew, Terry E. Davison of Fairborn, Ohio; and her aunt, Virginia Crain of Cherokee.
The family has suggested the First Baptist Church of Norman or a charity of choice as appropriate for memorial contributions.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. today at the Primrose Event Center.
The services of Mrs. Wyatt have been entrusted to the care of Primrose Funeral Service.
