NORMAN — Charles Lee Cozart was born May 7, 1951, in Big Springs, Texas, to Charnell and Minnie Cozart. He passed from this life Monday, May 26, 2014.
Survivors include his son, Ramey Cozart and Marsha Strong of Guymon; brother, Dale Cozart and wife Dena of Mission, Texas; sister, Laura Brumley and husband Benny of Skiatook; loving friend, Karen Jones Cozart of Amarillo, Texas; stepdaughter, Tessa Waddell and husband Scott, and grandsons Gunner and Cannon of Claude, Texas; nephews Shane Kimball and family and Robert Cozart and family; niece, Sara Gwyn and family; and many other relatives and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Nicholas Wade Cozart; and his nephew, Michael Thomas Kimball.
Charlie was a graduate of Panhandle State University in Goodwell and was a former graduate student at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He was employed in radio advertising for many years and made a career change in mid-life to education.
He was employed with Oklahoma City schools after completing coursework for his teaching certificate at the University of Oklahoma. He loved teaching and was dedicated to finding new ways to help his students. Over the years, he helped countless students prepare for and pass their GED tests.
Charlie never met a stranger; loved his family, animals, the great outdoors, his Harley and riding his horses through the hills of Oklahoma. He will be sorely missed by those who survive him.
