NORMAN — Lewis Livingston McCall, 84, passed away at the Oklahoma City hospice house on April 12, 2013. He was suffering from pancreatic cancer.
Lew was born on Jan. 2, 1929, in Norman, to Lewis Livingston and Minnie Knighten McCall. His grandparents were Samuel King and Minnie Linticum McCall, and John Thomas and Sally Knighten.
He served in the United States Army in Korea from 1951 to 1952 as a First Lieutenant, 25th Division, Field Artillery.
Lew married Dixann in February 1951.
He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1954, and was a partner at S K McCall and Co. until his retirement in 1986. Lew’s passion was aviation which he passed on to his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Wilson McCall; and his brothers, Samuel King McCall and Thomas Knighten McCall.
Lew is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Dixann Wilson McCall; his daughter, Mary Margaret McCall; and his grandsons, Peter Lewis Livingston McCall, James McCall Moffett, Andrew James McCall and John McCall Moffett.
In accordance with Lew McCall’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service, however, the McCall family will receive friends to reflect, remember and celebrate McCall’s life from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street, Norman, Oklahoma.
