NORMAN — Alice was born on March 19, 1928, in Okarche. She was the youngest of six children born to Rudolph and Rose Brueggen.

Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 N. Porter Ave. in Norman, with interment in Chapel Hill Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.

Alice attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in Okarche. After graduating as valedictorian of her class, she attended Mary Mount College in Salina, Kan., for one year.

In 1949, she married Joe Lippoldt, also from Okarche, and had two daughters, Linda and Jan. Alice and Joe were married 20 years until Joe’s sudden death at the age of 44 in 1970. Alice remained a widow for 13 years until she married Bill Panter in 1983.

Alice worked as a secretary in the insurance business and worked her way up to administrative manager at Lincoln National Life. After retirement in 1984, Alice and Bill became involved in parish activities at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Norman. They helped establish the Golden Ager’s Group, and Alice was a member of St. Bernadette’s Guild. In addition, Bill and Alice were members of the Young Men’s Club of Oklahoma City.

Shortly after celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2003, Bill passed away.

Alice loved to sing and she had a beautiful voice. She sang with the church choir as well as entertaining at various church functions.

Alice has three granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren, Jenny and Rock Richard, children Julia and Atticus; Jill and David Grooms; children Harper, Henry and Hugh; and Jolie and Brandon Boke, children Cab, Mac and Lucy.

Her courage, grace and love of music will be missed by her daughters Linda Airington and husband Ancel and Jan Milanowski and husband Scott and grandchildren.

Vigil prayer service will be 6:30 p.m. today at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, 3401 Havenbrook St.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephs Golden Agers in Norman.

Arrangements for Alice and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
