NORMAN — Virginia Parrott, 91, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at her home in Norman. Virginia was born in North Tonawanda, N.Y. on May 27, 1922, to Lilian Labiak and Anthony Stanley Glogoza.

Virginia met her future husband, Fred J. Parrott, when accepting a ride from some friends and Fred to an interview for a job. Fred, having many connections and friends at the plant, made sure the interview had a positive conclusion. They were married on Aug. 10, 1946, after World War II, as Fred was a veteran of that conflict. During the war years Virginia operated an overhead crane at the Wurlitzer plant which was converted over to the war effort.

Virginia moved to Muncie, Ind. with her family in 1953 when Fred was transferred by the Ball Company. In Muncie, she worked for the Delaware County Treasury office until she retired.

She enjoyed painting and crafts.

Survivors include her son, James R. Parrott (wife, Batina); daughters, Susan Jane Haas (husband, Tom) and Barbara Ann Williams (husband, Robbie); five grandchildren, James Williams, Lizzy Zukas, Patrick Williams, Logan Elstead, and Ashley Parrott; and five great-grandchildren (plus one on the way).

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and seven siblings.

Arrangements for Virginia and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home where visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Monday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman.
