NORMAN — Pauline L. “Maudie” Skinner, passed from this life on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. She was 93 years old. She was born on Jan. 29, 1920, to Frank Flear Haigwood and Mattie Lou Kinslow Haigwood in Shawnee.
She graduated from Seminole High School in 1938 and attended Seminole Junior College for the next two years. She then married C.W. Skinner and they were happily married for the next 69 years until his death in 2010.
She also was preceded in death by brothers Arthur Lee and Bobby and sisters Oriene and Louvanna. Her greatest loss was the death of her only child, Budd Skinner Jr., in 1989, and our greatest happiness is that they are now together again.
Maudie was a wife and homemaker her entire life. Her specialty was cooking, and her homemade hot rolls were the best. She also loved to play bridge with a special group of life-long friends. She was the best grandmother and mother-in-law ever.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Kristen Paige Skinner of Tulsa and her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Skinner of Yukon. She is also survived by a host of friends and relatives too numerous to mention.
The family wishes to thank Crossroads Hospice and all the aides at Willowood in Mustang who took such great care of her in her final journey.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at IOOF Cemetery in Norman.
Arrangements for Pauline and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
