NORMAN — William R. “Bill” Willige, 71, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. Bill was born May 20, 1942, in Bonanza, Ark., to August William and Wanda Lee (Kennedy) Willige.
He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard during Vietnam. He retired first from the U.S. Postal Service as a postal inspector and later as director of training for Hardees Corporation. Bill loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Max.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, William Todd Willige.
Survivors include daughter Susan Willige; grandson, Maxwell Brooks Jacene Willige; brothers Bob Allan and wife Diana Willige, Ben and wife Carolyn Willige and August and wife Teresa Willige; nephews and nieces Justin, Dusty, April, Maria, Jeremy and Jason; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Crosspointe Church, 2601 24th Ave. SE in Norman.
Arrangements for Bill and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
