Willie ‘Frankie’ Frances Armstrong

NORMAN — Willie “Frankie” Frances Armstrong, 84, of Norman, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in Norman. She was born April 8, 1929, in Burnett, near Tribby in Pottawatomi County, to Claude Coley and Jossie May (Russell) Coley.

She married John E. Armstrong on June 10, 1969, in Fresno, Calif. John passed away in 2005, and Frankie moved to Norman in 2007 to be near her brother.

She was employed until retirement. Some of her favorite jobs were nursing technician at the hospital in Ahwahnee, Calif., hostess/waitress for many establishments, office manager for her husband’s milk delivery business and security guard at Wickes Forest Industries in Auberry, Calif. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens group (in Prather, Calif.) and enjoyed the art classes. Her hobbies included painting, reading novels, doing crossword puzzles and playing board games with neighbors.

Her quick wit, humor, generosity and concern for others will be remembered by her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Jeannie Coley of Norman; granddaughter, Amy Armstrong of Fresno, Calif.; and uncle, Quenton Russell of Thackerville.

The family is grateful to the staff of Crossroads Hospice for their visits and help to Frankie during the past year.

Services are entrusted to Primrose Funeral Service.
