John Moore

NORMAN — Services for John Moore, 59, of Norman, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Community Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Annette Andrews and the Rev. Richard H. Gaines officiating. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.

John was born Aug. 30, 1954, in New Orleans to Mary (Wilson) and James Moore. He passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, in Midwest City.

John graduated from L.B. Landry High School in 1973 and later received his associate’s degree from Moore Norman Vo-Tech in electronics.

On Sept. 30, 1978, John married Sharilynn Fountain. They moved to Norman in June 1988, where they resided until his death.

John was ordained as a deacon on Jan. 27 and was a faithful member of New Birth Ministries.

He and Sharilynn raised three children, Renee Moore of Norman; John A. Moore and wife Leslie of Garland, Texas, and Renata Aiguomudu and husband Emmanuel of Norman. Also bringing joy to his life were his three beautiful grandchildren, Aaliyah Dane, Leslee Grace and Prosper James.

John is survived by his wife, Sharilynn; mother, Mary; three children; two sisters, Gloria Jason and Florence Hulbert; brother, Gary Moore; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Moore have been entrusted to the care of Primrose Funeral Service, primrosefuneralservice.com.
