NORMAN — Linda Adams Crabtree, 73, a courageous woman and beloved wife, mother and grandmother, ended her valiant fight for life Sunday, April 21, 2013. She was born in Oklahoma City on Sept. 9, 1939 to Catherine and Lynn Adams.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Linda Crabtree will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Edward’s Chapel at Casady School.
A victim of polio at the age of 15, she always maintained a positive attitude and had a beautiful smile. Linda graduated from Casady School in 1957 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1961.
She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, the Junior League of Oklahoma City, the Philanthropic Educational Organization, P.E.O. Sisterhood, the Coterie Club, and was a charter member of the Antiques Club.
Linda taught English and poetry at Casady and Oklahoma City Community College. She loved playing and teaching bridge, painting and working crossword puzzles. Linda’s friends were many and they loved being with her.
Linda is survived by her husband of 47 years, F. Dale Crabtree. They had two children, a son, David and his wife Lori; a daughter, Catherine Ratliff and her husband Kevin; she was blessed with three grandchildren, Brock Ratliff, Liam Crabtree and Ainsley Crabtree. Her grandchildren affectionately called her “Mimi.” She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Yoch; brother-in-law, James of Norman; and nephews, Michael and Stephen.
