NORMAN — Jeffrey Monroe, 29, of Norman passed from this life on April 25, 2013.

Jeffrey was born May 8, 1983 in Norman, the son of Michael and Brenda (Potter) Monroe. Jeffrey attended public schools in Norman, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2007. Jeffrey spent many years working as a waiter at Charleston’s where he brought his contagious smile and uplifting attitude to both guests and co-workers alike. Most recently, Jeffrey worked as a mud logger for Geosite, Inc of San Angelo, Texas. His friends and family will always remember Jeffrey’s kind heart, contagious laugh, positive attitude, ability to lift up others, and ability to make even the most mundane times fun and enjoyable.

Jeffrey is survived by his parents Michael and Brenda Monroe of Norman; his grandparents Carroll and Essie (Harless) Potter of Oklahoma City; his Sister and Brother-in-law Lauren and Erik Thorne, and his niece and nephews Ainsley, Hudson, and Everett of Johns Creek, Ga.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the OU Foundation, Attn: Karen Renfroe, OU Development, 339 W. Boyd, Whitehand Hall, Norman, 73072. Contributions will be used to dedicate a bench in Jeffrey’s memory to the University of Oklahoma campus. Please reference Jeffrey Monroe in the memo.

Outdoor services in celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on May 4 at 1021 Live Oak Drive, Norman.
