NORMAN — Longtime Norman resident Robert “Bob” Ramon Salmon passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Norman Specialty Hospital from lung cancer.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church, 1717 W. Lindsey St. in Norman.
Bob married Helen Denny on Aug, 25, 1950. Bob and Helen moved to Norman in 1958, where they have resided ever since.
Bob was a printer by vocation. His career included jobs with the Fredrick Press Leader, Oklahoma Daily (plant superintendent), Oklahoma Journal, Oklahoma Hunting and Fishing Report, and Hooper Printing Company.
Bob was an Eagle Scout, where he learned amateur radio. He has been an avid amateur radio hobbyist ever since. His call sign since 1947 was W5NCN.
Bob is survived by his son, Robert of Norman; daughter, Becky and her husband Michael Kinder of Centennial, Colo.; three grandchildren, Eric, Benjamin and Julie; sister, Barbara Brown of Paola, Kan.; numerous dear relatives and friends; and his loving, faithful dog, Snuggles.
