NORMAN — Cadence Marie Gordon, age 8, of Norman, passed away Sept. 2, 2013. She was born Feb. 7, 2005, in Augusta, Ga.
Cadence loved to swim, dance, sing and climb trees. She enjoyed putting on fashion shows and building sand castles, and she loved to swing.
Cadence was in the third grade and was in the gifted and talented program at Reagan Elementary School in Norman. She had attended day care at Noble Assembly of God in Noble.
Cadence loved making pancakes with Grandpa Jim. She enjoyed art class and she liked to draw.
Cadence is survived by her mother, Christina Marie Francis and dad, Tommy Brown; four brothers, Walker, Braden, Chase and Braxton; grandparents Jim and Charlene Hughes, Mary and Brian Brown, Lynda Clyde, Alan and Barbara Francis and Craig and Karen Gordon; great-grandparents John and Joella Gordon and Harry Rackley.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway Ave. in Moore.
A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the CrossPointe Church, 2601 24th Ave. SE in Norman, with Pastors Steve Lance and Glenn Quirk officiating.
The family requests that all attending wear something pink or purple — please no black. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bubbles).
A memorial fund has been set up for Cadence under Christina Francis, USE Federal Credit Union, 2701 E. Imhoff Road, Room C-131, Norman, OK 73071-1103.
Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel.
