Irene D. Hagood

NORMAN — Irene “Nanny” D. Hagood, 85, of Norman, went peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior on Sept. 8, 2011 in Norman.

 Services for Irene will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Primrose Chapel. Burial service will follow at IOOF Cemetery Norman.

Irene was born to William Perry Patton and Maebelle Patton in Kenific on Dec. 11, 1925, the fifth of six girls.

She was a loving mother of four beautiful girls raised by her and her husband, Thomas James Hagood. They married Jan. 6, 1946. She loved to spend time every day in her garden and constantly had some sort of craft in the works that she so enjoyed and gave as gifts. She and Thomas inspired the family with their devotion and love of our Lord.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas James Hagood and her parents William P. and Maebelle Patton, and her sisters Vivian, Christine, Earlene, Judy and Billie. 

Irene is survived by her four daughters Delores Marrs and husband Bill, Karen Law and husband Bill, Louise Brite and husband Jim and Tommie Ann McGee and husband Jim, including nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
